Pressed mint, lime and crushed ice. A Cuban classic reinterpreted through the distinctive character of Adamus Gin.
Ingredients:
- 45 ml Adamus Gin
- 20 ml lime juice
- 15 ml sugar syrup
- 12 mint leaves
- Soda water, to top up
Method:
Place the mint leaves in the glass with the sugar syrup.
Press twice with the back of a bar spoon, without twisting. Add the lime juice and Adamus Gin.
Fill the glass with crushed ice and stir well. Top up with soda water and gently stir again, from the bottom upwards.
Finish with a sprig of mint, lightly clapped in the palm of your hand to release its aroma.
Garnish:
A sprig of mint and one lime wheel.
Mint is not muddled:
Mint’s essential oils sit on the surface of the leaf and are released with gentle pressure.
That is why two light presses are enough. Twisting or crushing the mint tears the leaves and releases chlorophyll, bringing more bitter notes and darkening the cocktail.
The finishing touch comes from the mint sprig: gently clapped in the palm of your hand, it releases the aroma that accompanies every sip.
